This is sort of a two-fold tip that I discovered when my Husband went to clean the coffee pot. First, running 3 cups of vinegar through the coffee post will clean it out. After you run the vinegar through follow it up with a run of just plain water to finish the cleaning. I couldn’t believe how clean our coffee pot got after this. The second part of the tip is what I discovered in this process – if you have a stuffy nose and nothing else seems to be working, stand in the kitchen while the coffee pot is brewing the vinegar. It will clear your sinuses in no time! It works like magic!
Now it’s your turn – drop a tip in the jar!

I love to work with vinegar, so I will totally try this. Also takes care of that horrible smell you may get down your sink drain…3 in one. Pour the brewed vinegar down the sink drain and no more stink…awesome tip!

Oh, and I recommend cleaning your brand new coffee maker before making a pot – the vinegar gets rid of that new-appliance-plastic taste and smell.

vinegar is magic. I go to vinegar.com to find out every use for it…so so many. Basically anything! I do this too with the coffee pot and it is amazing!
Thanks for sharing your tip. I don’t drink coffee, so my husband always makes it and he should be cleaning out his coffeemaker…I’m not sure how often that actually happens though. Perhaps I’ll have to clean it for him sometime – soon!
I’m going to try your tip. Thanks!
Maybe I should stand near some vinegar now! Blahhhhh – I feel crummy.

I used to work in a coffee shop and we were instructed to never use soap to clean the coffee pots. We used a special cleaner. Vinegar is just as good and way cheaper. Great tip!
Great tip, no wonder it never worked for me, I don’t use enough vinegar. I use vinegar in the rinse cycle when I wash my son’s cloth diapers.
