If you blog about Autism this new site is a great place for you to check out!

Started by yours truly, this is a site I have been wanting to do for years now. I am really excited about it and I hope you’ll check it out. Below is my intro to Autism Bloggers.
“When my son was first diagnosed with Autism I hit the Internet faster than you could say “world wide web”. I began searching for anything and everything I could find about Autism. What I discovered was a community of people just like me – people searching for answers, reasons, encouragement, support, and more. There were moms and dads, sisters and brothers, grandparents, aunts and uncles, doctors and nurses, therapists and teachers – it seems that Autism knows no boundaries and people from all walks of life were online just as I was searching to find something.
I found hundreds of websites loaded with information and resources. I found support groups both online and local. And then I found something that for me was even better – something I knew very well that created a personal feel to everything I was experiencing as a parent new to this world – I found blogs. I found blogs of people just like me living with Autism in their lives on a daily basis. It was through these blogs that I developed friendships and relationships that have been so important in mine and my son’s journey.
It was at that point that I told myself that one day I would start a site aimed at listing these blogs. It took a while to get here, but finally I did it. My goal with Autism Bloggers is to create a directory of blogs that when looked at will show people they are not alone – a directory of blogs dealing with what we all know so well, Autism.
The plan is to provide the links and descriptions of these blogs thus giving readers a one stop resource to find people they can relate to. I also plan to update here through the blog feature of the site as a way to stay up on current happenings in the Autism community and current news stories.
I hope that this site will be informative and encouraging. And whether you are a parent, a teacher, a doctor, or just someone who cares, if you blog about Autism I hope you will consider adding your blog to the directory – your blog may be just what someone else needs to help them through.”
Stop by and say hello – and if you are a momma who blogs about Autism please join the directory.

I think a lot of people are not fully aware of what autism is, so it is great that you have a site dedicated to that.
