As you gear up for Thanksgiving consider a few of these timesavers…
- Peal all of your potatoes the day before. If you put then in water and store them in a refrigerator they will stay perfectly fresh.
- Make all of your desserts a day or two ahead of time.
- Prepare your vegetables the day before. Do all the chopping you have to do and set it aside in the refrigerator (air tight containers are best). If you are making a veggie tray you can create the dips the day before as well.
- Know your turkey! Know the poundage, the time it takes to thaw, the time it takes to cook, and how you will prepare it – know it now – prepare now!
- If you are having a large group it pays to create a seating chart and set the table the night before. This will save on guests standing around wondering where to sit – and it will save you from spending time place setting rather than visiting with family.
These are just a few tips, but if you plan ahead and prepare what you can early you will have a much more relaxed and enjoyable Thanksgiving Day.
Now it’s your turn – drop a tip in the jar!
