Tuesday’s Tip Jar

Thanksgiving is almost here and that means many of you have turkey on the brain – cooking it, eating it, leftovers… Yes, Thanksgiving does spark great thought on one particular bird, but it doesn’t have to cause you stress. Cooking a turkey is not all that hard – the disasters arise when you don’t thaw it properly or you forget to take out the giblets. So here are my tips for you:

  1. Take out the giblets – no one wants those left in, especially in a little plastic bag, bleck!
  2. Take note of how long you need to thaw your bird and give yourself ample time. This list may be too late for some of you, but if it isn’t then I hope it helps. And remember – ALWAYS thaw in the refrigerator.

8 to 12 lbs. = 2 to 3 Days
13 to 16 lbs. = 3 to 4 Days
17 to 20 lbs. = 4 to 5 Days
21 to 24 lbs. = 5 to 6 Days

Now it’s your turn – drop a tip in the jar!
